Annie Simonson
Director of Community Relations
Annie was born in Denver where she lived under the watchful
gaze of the Rockies until she graduated from high school. She
traveled north briefly to attend the University of Wyoming.
After receiving her degree, Annie moved to Scottsdale, Arizona,
where she and her husband, Doug, worked together in the real
estate industry for almost 25 years.
Annie’s first love has always been the mountains. She
and her family began visiting Durango in the early 1980’s
to ski at “Purgatory Resort.” With every visit,
they knew they would eventually call Durango home. In August
of 2001, Annie and her family moved north, settling just two
miles south of Durango Mountain Resort.
The Simonson’s have four terrific daughters, two of which are married and have families of their own. They love visiting Annie and Doug who delight in sharing the area's fun-filled family activities with them. The two younger daughters, 20 and 16, love to ski and snowboard and both are accomplished equestrians.
Annie loves everything about Durango Mountain Resort, from the snow and the sunshine to the quaking aspens and stalwart pines. But mostly, she loves being part of our wonderful community.
