2009 DMR Employee Awards
Durango Mountain Resort would like to congratulate the recipients of our 2009 Employee Awards:
“Clint Eastwood of DMR” – Kim Provost, Senior Accountant
Recognized by her colleagues as the strong, silent type, Kim quietly and skillfully manages her heavy workload and still finds time to donate her many talents to a good cause, including the annual Snowdown parade float. Kim’s coworkers appreciate her rare combination of artistic and analytic skills and her willingness to pitch in and help with any task.
“Mr. Friendly & Mr. Helpful” – Kevin Gross, Grounds Maintenance Foreman
When the hard work needs to be done, his coworkers look to Kevin to get it done fast and get it done right – and always with a smile. With his cheerful disposition and willingness to help, Kevin is a pleasure to work with.
“Pimp My Ride,” a.k.a. “Mr. 24-Hour Service” – Randy Sipes, Transportation Manager
Randy is the quintessential “can-do” employee. He treats every person as the most important person on the mountain, whether they’re a homeowner, guest or employee. Ever polite and respectful, Randy will always find a way to help.
“Safety Success Story” – Scott Clements, Mountain Patrol Director & Liz Edwards, Mountain Operations Manager
Thanks to the hard work of Scott and Liz, DMR has the best workers’ compensation rating in the state and has set the bar for safety among ski resorts. Scott and Liz have done a great job of educating all DMR employees about the importance of safety and their continued efforts are appreciated by all.
“Queen of Revenue” – Lea Leach, Revenue Manager
Lea successfully tackled the task of revamping the Daily Management Report, a critical tool used by every department to track revenue. Her job touches everyone in the company, but not everyone realizes it. Lea deserves to be recognized for her hard work and her positive, friendly attitude (not to mention the jar of candy on her desk).
“The CART Award” – Charlie Curtis, Executive Chef
Charlie is the driving force behind the most dramatic improvements to Purgatory’s food offerings in 20 years. He is an exceptional chef and a great team player. Charlie’s behind-the-scenes contributions allow us to provide our guests with the best service possible.
Congratulations to all of our award nominees: Abi May, Alex Lekas, Bethany Hopp, Carson Busch, Chad Riddles, Chelisa Schultz, Chuck Wages, Darrick Zuber, Dwight Tewes, Heidi White, Jimbo Brantley, James Bunten, Jay Eagen, Jess Schum, Jim Hards, Joe Peisker, John Miller,
